What Is Temple Keepers?

Temple Keepers helps Christians care for their bodies like the temples they are.

We are a Christ-centered health and fitness ministry that helps believers stop

separating their faith from their health and begin building healthy and holy habits through nutrition, movement, rest, and peace.

This is not another diet, quick fix, or body-focused program. We help you renew

your mind, rebuild your habits, nourish your body, move with purpose, and steward your health for the glory of God.

Our mission is to help Christians honor God with their bodies and walk in the freedom, energy, and consistency He created them for.

Meet Your Coaches

We know what it feels like to struggle in this area. To feel stuck in your body, confused by food, tired of starting over, and unsure if lasting change is even possible.

We’ve been there. And that’s exactly why we’re here.

Matthew’s Story

Matthew knows what it feels like to be completely stuck — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

For years, he battled addiction, obesity, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and hopelessness. He tried to numb the pain with alcohol, drugs, food, success, and anything else that promised relief, but nothing brought the freedom he was looking for.

At his lowest point, God stepped in and began rebuilding his life from the inside out. Through that process, Matthew learned what it meant to surrender, renew his mind, steward his body, and find his identity in Christ. That journey is what fuels his mission today.

Matthew brings almost 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, along with his background as a U.S. Army veteran, Certified Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, nutrition coach, and formal education in Nutritional Science and Nutritional Psychology.

Now, he helps men and women break free from the patterns keeping them stuck, rebuild their health, and learn how to care for their bodies for the glory of God.

Leah’s Story

Leah knows what it feels like to be doing all the “right” things and still feel stuck.

For years, she lived in survival mode as a single mom of three, teaching full-time, tutoring at night, exercising consistently, trying to eat healthy, and researching everything she could about food, fitness, and health. From the outside, it looked like discipline. But underneath, she was exhausted, confused, and still chasing the world’s version of health.

God began to change everything when He showed her that health was not about chasing skinny, striving for perfection, or trying harder. It was about surrender, stewardship, and learning to care for her body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

With 15 years in education, literacy, and curriculum design, Leah brings a teacher’s heart to Temple Keepers. She helps turn biblical truth and practical health principles into simple steps people can actually live out.

Now, as a wife and mother of three in a beautifully blended family, Leah helps Christians release guilt, renew their minds, rebuild their habits, and learn how to care for their bodies for the glory of God.

This isn’t just our profession, it’s our testimony and our calling.

We’re Matthew and Leah Headden, the founders of Temple Keepers Christian Fitness. Together, we’ve helped hundreds of believers just like you finally break free from toxic diet culture and learn how to care for their body God’s way.

Matthew and Leah’s Story

We never set out to start a fitness ministry. But we kept seeing something heartbreaking: Christians stuck in cycles of food guilt, confusion, and physical struggle. Some chasing worldly diets. Others not realizing their health even mattered to God. And no one in the Church was talking about it. Then in 2023—God brought us together. On a dating app, of all places. Our very first conversation was about Jesus and the gym… and look what He’s built since then. We had no idea what He was preparing. But He did. He was taking two people with a shared passion for Christ, health, and helping others—and merging their strengths in a way only He could.

Matthew brought years of experience in fitness, nutrition, and coaching; and Leah brought a heart for teaching, curriculum design, and leading women well. Together, God gave us a calling: not just to help people get healthy, but to teach believers how to treat their bodies as temples—and finally walk in the freedom they were created for. Temple Keepers was born out of obedience to that call. We help Christians break free from the noise, heal their relationship with food and their body, and build a lifestyle that reflects discipline, grace, and biblical truth. Not for vanity. Not for control. But for worship. Because when you align your health with God’s design… everything changes. And we’re here to walk that road with you.
