ABOUT MATTHEW
Hi, I’m Matthew Headden – husband, step-dad, U.S. Army veteran, and believer with over 16 years in the fitness industry as a Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach, and Certified Personal Trainer. For most of my life, I believed I was too broken to matter. I tried to fill God-sized holes with everything but Him , alcohol, drugs, food, success – basically anything to numb the pain. I battled obesity for years. By 23, I was on medication for blood pressure and cholesterol, dealing with gout, and recovering from military-related back surgeries. I was falling apart; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
At my lowest point, I put a gun in my mouth and pulled the trigger. But the gun didn’t fire. God stepped in because He wasn’t finished with me. It took years, but God began to rebuild me from the inside out. He taught me who I really am in Christ. He showed me how to steward my body, renew my mind, and live with purpose.
Now, I’ve committed my life to helping others do the same; to heal from the inside out, break free from bondage, reclaim their health, and live strong, redeemed lives for God’s glory. Because I’ve lived in the darkness and I know the way out, I’m here to help you do the same.
ABOUT LEAH
Hey y’all! I’m Leah Headden – wife, mom of three, former teacher, and co-founder of Temple Keepers. For years, I lived in survival mode, teaching full time, tutoring at night, and trying to be “on” all the time. I was chasing skinny, striving for perfection, and drowning in food and fitness noise; but nothing worked, and I felt stuck.
When Matthew helped me cut through the confusion and we began aligning our health with God’s Word, it all started to make sense. I learned freedom doesn’t come from restriction, it comes from surrender; food isn’t a trap, it’s a gift; and caring for my body is about stewardship, not vanity.
Now I help educate others to do the same: ditch the guilt, embrace God’s design, and build a healthy life that honors Him!
ABOUT US
We never set out to start a fitness ministry, but we kept seeing something heartbreaking. Christians were stuck in cycles of food guilt, confusion, and physical struggle. Some were chasing worldly diets. Others didn’t realize their health even mattered to God. And no one in the Church was talking about it.
As we dug into Scripture, God started connecting the dots by showing us how deeply our physical health is tied to our spiritual obedience. He revealed His design for how we eat, move, and steward our bodies. This wasn’t just about personal conviction. It was a calling.
Temple Keepers was born out of obedience to that call.
We help believers break free from the food noise, heal their relationship with their bodies, and build sustainable, God-centered habits; not for vanity, but for worship. We know that when we treat our bodies like the temples they are, everything changes.
